Education-Observatories
The Education-Observatories site is a web environment presenting the results of a series of eLearning related projects carried on by the MENON Network together with some of the most important actors in the field of ICT supported learning and human resources development in Europe. All those projects have in common the aim to improve the understanding of the change introduced in European learning settings by the adoption and integration of ICT in education and training with a Lifelong learning perspective.
As you will see by browsing the different projects' pages, we strongly believe that in order to get a an appropriate glance of the current status and of the potential future developments of eLearning, it is important to look in an integrated perspective at:
- eLearning policies (eWATCH and POLE)
- eLearning market, practices and research developments (L-Change)
- eLearning measurement through ad hoc indicators (DELOS)
- eLearning products and processes quality (SEEQUEL)
- eLearning projects and practices adopted in EU funded actions(eLearn)
- students' perspectives and expectations on eLearning (SPOT+)
- regional dimensions of eLearning (ReLL)
- future development scenarios (L-Change and LEONIE)
The main objectives of the Observatory activities carried out are:
- Support the implementation of the eLearning Action Plan of the European Union
- Conduct support functions in the Programmes SOCRATES and LEONARDO da VINCI and in the 6th RTD Framework Programme (2002-2007) of the EU
- Establish connections and collaborations with similar and complementary initiatives and networks to foster the exchange of knowledge and to better monitor the implementation of educational policies
- Carry out prospective studies on future scenarios for learning systems and develop a method to conduct trends and future developments' analysis on a yearly basis
- Systematically review ICT-driven programmes and actions in education and training and make it accessible through the education-observatories website
