POLE addresses the needs for better understanding the relationships
between lifelong learning policies and practice and the use of Information
and Communication Technologies (ICT). The project aims at elaborating
answers about the ways that ICT can enhance and amplify the results
of lifelong learning policies, especially in the framework of the
eLearning Initiative and following the recommendations in the Memorandum
of Lifelong Learning.
POLE is addressing Innovation and ICT in Lifelong Learning as its
main field of observation and analysis. It adopts a multidisciplinary
approach that encompasses pedagogical, organisational, economic
and institutional aspects of innovation as well as the technological
dimension. It focuses on the observation of long-term policies,
practices and business development and utilises the most recent
European reports and workplans to build the hypotheses for future
developments.
You are devoting your time, energy and expertise to Lifelong Learning
policies and practices, so why not join this expert community,
which is taking advantage of the most recent reports and agendas of policy
makers such as national ministries and the European Union, in order
to enrich your understanding in the field? We invite you to join
our Thematic Forum that will be available as from November 2002.
POLE is party funded under the SOCRATES programme of DG Education and Culture (DG EAC).
